Morgan Partyka M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist & Founder

Morgan is a born and raised native Nevadan who earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in speech language pathology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Morgan is licensed in the state of Nevada and brings experience serving children of all ages and abilities in the early intervention, school, and private practice settings since 2021. She has since solidified her passion for providing personalized and compassionate services to children and their families in a one-on-one office setting, and thus Enlighten Speech & Language was built.

Morgan’s therapeutic style is grounded in connection with a humanistic approach as she firmly believes it is the foundation for empowering children to achieve their highest communicative potential. She values fostering authentic connections to get to know children and their families and allowing them to know her. Morgan believes in tailoring therapy to fit each child’s unique needs to eliminate frustration and foster independence to navigate the social, emotional, and communicative aspects of the world around them.

In her free time, Morgan enjoys spending quality time with her husband and German Shepherd cuddled up on the couch or walking through the hills. When she isn’t with them, you may find her browsing through TJ Maxx or Target with a coffee in hand, cozied up with a Stephen King novel, or spending the day in Lake Tahoe.

  • Where do services take place?
In our cozy office located inside of Sierra Therapy Group Suites!
  • How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
Your concerns as a caregiver are valuable and it is important you are heard! If you have questions about your child’s speech, language, or social skills development, an evaluation by a licensed speech-language pathologist is an important place to start to determine if your child would benefit from therapy.
  • Do I need a referral from my pediatrician?
Enlighten Speech & Language does not require a referral to get started with your child’s evaluation and therapy. However, the requirement of a referral may vary based on your insurance plan. We will reach out to your child’s pediatrician directly if a referral is necessary.
  • My pediatrician recommended to wait and see, how do I know when to seek help?
Pediatricians are valuable members of your child’s team; however, your concerns as a caregiver are more than enough to warrant seeking further information from a communication expert--a speech-language pathologist. Early intervention is key and a comprehensive assessment will allow you to move forward with a plan.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Yes! We accept most major insurance plans. Specific coverage for speech therapy varies based on your specific plan (number of visits, co-insurance/co-payment, authorization etc.,). Once scheduled, we will contact your insurance company for you to obtain information regarding your speech therapy benefits.
  • What are your areas of expertise?
The scope of speech pathology is much larger than, "teaching kids how to talk"! At Enlighten speech and language we offer services for speech, language, social communication disorders, as well as communicative needs secondary to global diagnoses (i.e., ADHD/ADD, down syndrome, autism, fetal alcohol syndrome, etc.,). If you are unsure whether or not your child falls under any of these categories, please contact us or head to our resource page to learn more: Articulation (speech sounds) Expressive language Receptive language Pragmatic language Fluency Executive functioning Augmentative Communication (AAC) And more!
  • Is an evaluation necessary?
A comprehensive assessment essential to beginning your child’s therapeutic journey. The evaluation provides us with specific information regarding your child’s strengths and areas of need, allowing us to create an effective and supportive therapy plan.
  • My child had a recent speech/language done evaluation somewhere else; is it necessary to do another one?
We are happy to review, include, and consider any clinical information relevant to your child’s journey that you are willing to share! To ensure an accurate, individualized therapy plan unique to your child, it is necessary for us to complete a comprehensive speech and/or language assessment for all new patients.
  • What can I expect during the evaluation?
Prior to the evaluation, you will be asked to complete a confidential questionnaire regarding your child’s development and other relevant information. Although each evaluation is tailored to the child and concerns, the evaluation may include a caregiver interview, observations of your child’s skills during play-based activities, and/or formal assessment measures relevant to your child’s speech/language abilities and difficulties. When the evaluation is complete, clinical findings and recommendations will be discussed, and a detailed written report will be shared at a later date.
  • How often does my child need to attend therapy sessions?
Depending on your child’s level of need, in addition to your family’s desired rate of progress, we provide standing appointments typically recommended at 1-2 times per week.
  • How long will my child need speech therapy?
A million-dollar question-- Every family wonders how long their child will need speech therapy. While we understand therapy is an investment of your time and finances, unfortunately, there is no definitive answer as every child progresses at their own pace. The duration of therapy depends on several factors: the severity of the disorder, the frequency and intensity of therapy, the child’s response to therapy, and family involvement. At Enlighten Speech & Language, we are devoted to identifying how your child learns best, paired with effective therapeutic approaches and family involvement that leads to noticeable progress.
